At the end of the second IRTA preseason tests, the main character of the MotoGP class is again the Australian Repsol Honda rider.
Casey Stoner set the fastest lap of the three days of testing with a best time of 2’00.473.

Dani Pedrosa jumped into the second place in the last hour of testing and just 0.175 ahead his team mate.
Surprisingly Andrea Dovizioso finished the three days of testing with the third fastest time (+0.329) and with the honour to be the first Yamaha rider.
Jorge Lorenzo who had been the shadow of Stoner during the test, doesn’t went on track in the last hour of the test, so he couldn’t improve when lots of riders made their best.

Repsol rider, unstoppable in first test, returns to Sepang to perfect RC213V setup

Repsol rider and new father Casey Stoner goes back to Malaysia with plenty of motivation to carry on topping the timesheets from which he was unshakeable last month. He will be on track for three days in the official test, adjusting the setup of his Repsol Honda RC213V to his riding style.

The testing trip follows a few days in which the reigning World Champion has been spending time with his wife, Adriana, and newborn baby girl Alexandra (Ally). The Australian has been combining family time with intense fitness preparation in order to keep up the form that he showed just a few weeks ago at Sepang.

Repsol rider reviews first official test at Malaysian circuit and prepares for second runout of 2012 on the RC213V

Six weeks away from the start of the MotoGP World Championship, the Repsol Honda Team will be back in action from next Tuesday through Thursday at the Sepang ciurcuit in Malaysia. Dani Pedrosa has been making the most of the break between the first test at the end of January and this latest runout to improve his fitness, aiming to further adapt to the demands of the Honda RC213V.

In his first year as a member of the Repsol Honda team, Stoner was untouchable. Other than being knocked down in the Spanish Grand Prix, Stoner was on the podium in every race. In a 17-race season, he tied the record for pole positions with 12 and won 11 times. The most important victory came in his home grand prix at Phillip Island. In front of his fellow countrymen and family, Stoner closed the 800cc era as he’d opened it, by winning the MotoGP World Championship. Not only did he win the Australian Grand Prix for the fifth time in a row, but he did it on his 26th birthday. The best is surely still to come.

And not only on the race track. Following his dominant performance in the season-opening test in Sepang from Jan. 31 through Feb. 2, Stoner returned to his European base in Lausanne, Switzerland to be with his wife Adriana to await the birth of their first child. At 9:55 p.m. on Feb. 16, Casey and Adriana welcomed their daughter, Alessandra Maria Stoner. Now, after a few weeks of fatherhood, Stoner is preparing to returning to Sepang for the second MotoGP test of the 1000cc era.

Repsol Honda riders Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa finished first and third after three days of testing on the sweltering Sepang Circuit, validating the off-season development of the Honda RC213V that they’ll take into battle when the 2012 MotoGP World Championship begins in Qatar in April. The newest Honda riders, Alvaro Bautista (San Carlo Honda Gresini RC213V) and Stefan Bradl (LCR Honda RC213V) both improved their times on the final day of the test and gathered valuable data for when they return at the end of the month.

After missing the first day of testing yesterday due to a back strain, World Champion Casey Stoner enjoyed good track conditions on his first outing of 2012. Stoner spent the day doing a chassis comparison between his two RC213V chassis’ and finished the day as the fastest rider with a time of 2’00.895.
